Travellers in my last three systems had been talking of the Kevistemari system and the rumour had been consistent in every station, trading post and outpost I'd visited: something's not right there, so steer clear if you know what's good for you. How could I resist?
Arriving in the immediate aftermath of what appeared to be a large space battle, I picked my way through the dense asteroid belt and debris of numerous ships to Oakzamat, the nearest of five planets in this Gek controlled system.
Kevistemari was under Vy'Keen command until recently and how the Gek came to exert influence is another mystery which no-one seems particularly keen to speculate on. I will visit the station later but for now nothing seems out of the ordinary. Oakzamat is serene and gentle and peaceful - yet when darkness falls, I am able to detect a faint reddish/purple glow emanating from the extensive cave network and the ground seems... warmer ... than during the day. I will continue to investigate but the longer I stay, the more I cannot shake a feeling that Oakzamat is too normal and unassuming. Almost as if it were trying to convince you that there was no need to look more closely.
There is an outpost close by. Let's see what that adds to this mystery....
